Getting Started

Well, hello out there! Or perhaps I should say, "Здравствулте!! " which is a Russian greeting. We have been learning to speak a little Russian through podcasts as we prepare to travel to Kyrgyzstan next Friday. We are so excited about bringing home our adopted son Matthew Marat! He is a precious little guy with asian features, and we feel so blessed to become his parents. Once we get there and pick him up, we will be allowed to post some pictures of him. We can't wait for you to see and meet him. So many of you have done everything possible to help Tim and I off to a prepared start to parenthood ...(Is it possible to ever feel totally prepared?...just wondering) and we're so grateful! During the last couple of weeks, we've been busy cleaning and reorganizing closets, assembling strollers and other gadgets, reading books, and trying to get things washed and "ready to go." I can hardly believe this is really happening! Can't wait to share with you pictures more interesting than these, but it's a start... The adventure is just beginning!
(Yes, I have stripes and birds on my pajama pants ... everyone should have a pair like 'em!)
