Here are a few photos from our celebration of Matthew's first Adoption Day. (Actually, we've been debating whether to call it "homecoming day" or "adoption day." We seem to use the latter term most.)
We had just two simple gifts for him to open. One was a personalized photo cube with his name birthdate and adoption date engraved on it. It contains pictures from our adoption trip and our first meeting with him. The other was a gift from his "nana" and "pop-pop," who sent this great book called, "I don't have your eyes." (Matthew loves this book, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone with a transracial adoption.)
We finished the evening with a read through of the story book we made for him which tells the story of how God brought us together to form a family.
"To God be the glory, great things he hath done!"
(quote from a hymn that we included in our wedding ceremony)
