9 months in photos

Well, we didn't really start taking any profile pictures until the end of the first trimester, so technically, I guess this is really 6 months in photos! Either way, we thought it would be fun to put all these together at the end and see the growth. I have SO enjoyed pregnancy and I'm somewhat sad that it's soon to be over. Yet, I can't WAIT to meet our precious little one... knowing that God has knit this child together in my womb in just the way He has planned it. Tomorrow is the big day! Tim, Matthew and I are looking forward to meeting the newest Lehr! And we're looking forward to introducing him/her to you too!

(In each photo I'm holding up the number of fingers which represents how many months of pregnancy were behind me at that point.)

Final Family of 3 Photo Shoot

Well, it's hard to believe that our days of being a family of 3 are almost done! On one of our last nights before Friday's scheduled c-section, we took the oportunity to do our own funny family photo shoot. Matthew and baby will be sharing a room at night time, and we recently put a Bible verse up on the wall above their window. It definitely describes how we feel about both of our children ... "I Samuel 1:27 For this child I have prayed, and the Lord has granted the desires of my heart." We wanted to take a few pictures with the verse in the background, and by the end of it all we were all feeling a little crazy! We're so blessed and so grateful for how God has knit our family together!

I had to take a photo in my favorite maternity dress before my time being pregnant is all over! Tim humored me and got dressed up for a photo too! :)

So... are we ready for this? Here's hopin'!!

Ready or Not ... baby is coming

Over the last few weeks we've been cleaning closets and setting up baby things. Matthew has been the greatest little helper - especially when Daddy lets him use real tools! :) For now we have Matthew's crib bedding set up, but if needs be we'll get some more girl-appropriate bedding! Can't wait to find out the surprise!

First Day of School, Family Fun, & A New Roof!

The week following Labor day we enjoyed a visit from Tim's brother Barrett and family. It was quite an eventful week ... Michelle and Alexa were coming to town to see special doctor daily for their allergies. Tim and Barrett kept busy with a roof repair - off with the old and on with the new! Matthew had his first day of preschool. He had a great time playing with his cousin Anna while everyone else was busy with hammers and appointments. And later, he unfortunately came down sick with a very nasty "hand, foot, mouth" virus. Despite my efforts to keep everyone separated & healthy, both Anna & Alexa were running fevers before they left!

Even so, it was a wonderful week with family! Tim and Barrett were two peas in a pod - doing everything from household repairs to eating huge bowls of ice cream, playing video games, and dreaming up plans for guide service businesses in the future. (I was teasing them b/c they kept coincidentally dressing alike on several days. One of our neighbors asked me later if Tim and his brother are twins too. That made us all laugh.) I'm so glad for the great friendship Tim has with each of his brothers. It was wonderful to spend time with Michelle and the girls as well, and I just can't help but say that we are so blessed with the wonderful family God has placed us in! Here are a few pics to remember it all by...

Labor Day Weekend

Well, while Tim set off on his annual back backing trip, Matthew and I made some fun plans of our own for Labor Day weekend. We spent the day Friday with my friend Kim and her son Andrew and had a great time!! I am so grateful for our friendship with them and the shared heritage that Matthew and Andrew have! Kim has been getting into photography and taking some amazing photos. She asked me if we could take the boys out for a photo shoot, so we took them to a few places where we thought we might be able to capture a bit of their "boyish charm."

We let them explore train tracks, tree stumps, a creek and all the grass and mud that comes with those places. After just a few photos I put away my camera and went to work helping Kim capture better shots. (I have to imagine that 2 toddler boys are probably even the most experienced photographer's biggest challenge.) When all was said and done, we decided that "capturing boyish charm" is not a very clean process ... but fun nonetheless! I think the boys had a blast, but there was no way Matthew and Andrew were riding home in those clothes! Time to get home and get our boys cleaned up!

The next day we went to Kalahari with my brother and his family. We treasure time with Dave, Callie, Jagger, & Chloe. The kids had a blast playing! And after two fun-filled days, I was one exhausted mama!! I made the next day, Sunday, TRULY a day of rest.
