Our second day with Matthew was a little rough - not because of anything to do with him, he's doing great! Neither one of us, however were feeling up to par. Tim has a sore throat, and I had some more stomach issues along with a massive migraine ... one of my worst ever. I hardly left the room or my darkened bedroom for much of the day. This left daddy doing much of the Matthew care today and he did a great job! We are amazed at how much Matthew loves to eat ... it ain't pretty when the bowl or jar is empty and he isn't full yet. And we, the new parents, frantically run to the cupboard to make more cereal or grab another jar. What a sight we must be!
We hope Matthew will like swimming, and we've been excited to see that he isn't too afraid of the big bath tub .. maybe one of these days we'll take him for a dip in the pool. Here's another picture of our little cutie.
Tomorrow evening we will leave Kyrgystan and head accross the border to Kazahkstan where we have some appointments to keep. More adventures ahead! Thanks so much for your encouraging, fun, and tearful comments on our blog. We love, appreciate, and miss you all very much! Matthew has no clue yet what a wonderful group of friends and family members await him at home, but we know it so well! Thanks for your continued prayers!

Hi Tim and Kim;
Welcome to the life of parents, my heart goes out to you with your migraine and Tims sore throat. What a wonderful picture of him smiling, we love you guys and will continue to keep you in prayer enjoy Matthew and the great adventure.
Congratulations, Tim and Kim. I realize this is a bit late, but Michelle just explained to me the concept of a "blog." We've been praying for you a lot. A few comments:
1) Matthew does look like a pretty cute kid.
2) Neat pictures of Kyrgistan.
3) Tim, was that a picture of you at the shower? (Just kidding. I went to three of our wedding showers.)
4) Kim, does "stomach problems" mean what we think it means?

Glad to hear he is a great eater! However, what goes in must come out. For a brief moment I am wondering who had the lucky experience of changing Matthew's first dirty diaper. Maybe it was a team effort?!?
:)
Congratulations! What a charmer! We have been praying for you and checking the blog everyday for updates and more cute pic's. Great job! Sounds like you guys are doing a great job parenting, sleeping all night and eating well what more could you want. We are praying for you safe return.
