We have arrived safely in Kyrgyzstan after many hours of travel. No problems in all our flights and somehow our bags made it all the way through - PTL!. Our flight was a little late getting into Bishkek and we got to our very nice hotel around 3am Bishkek time or 5pm the previous day EST. (We left our house Friday at noon and arrived at our hotel here 5pm, Saturday EST - 29 looooong hours!)
When we arrived last night we found out that we will not be picking up Matthew today because it's Sunday and some people are at the lake (some explanation may have been lost in translation, but that's what we got out of it). Disappointing, however it does allow us to get a day of rest and some shopping. We met Mark and Stephanie, the couple from Atlanta, in the Istanbul airport and are enjoying having their company. Our facilitator here is really nice, and we're looking forward to getting out with her cousin as a guide today and seeing what's around. For now, we both have headaches, Kim has a sore throat, and then there's "jet lag" - so pray we'll be able to feel our best when we go to meet our son tomorrow!

Kim and Tim,
It is almost 7:00 AM here at home so that makes it almost 5:00 PM where you are. Thankful that you have arrived safely and understanding your disappointment in not picking up Matthew but it won't be long now. Enjoy your stay. Am thankful to the Lord for your safe arrival.

I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of you and how you were doing. How disappointing that the workers are at the "lake", although it will be good for you to get some rest before picking up Matthew. Can't wait to hear how your first day goes! You are all three in our prayers.

Thanks for setting up this blog, it is way cool. So happy that you have arrived safe and sound and hopefully by this time you are both feeling better. Can't believe you are way over on the other side of the world! Can't wait to see pics of the whole family! Keeping you in our prayers,
Glenn, Jody and Erin
We anxiously check your blog and keep you in our prayers. Can't wait to have your new family home!
Your Dad gave an update in church today about you not being able to get Matthew. We pray you would see him soon!
